Raffaela - Owner & Chief Eating Officer

I come from an Italian family and believe this is where my strong passion and love of food comes from. I’ve always been culturally curious and in my early years I traveled and experienced many cultures through living and working in different parts of the world. After returning to Melbourne I started working at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival on restaurant, bar crawls and MC’ing at festival events. This is where I discovered my love for hosting people and showing them Melbourne’s diverse food scene.

Pia Gava - Flavourhood Tours Guide

Food was an important part of my Italian upbringing and there was a family dish suited to every occasion which I loved. I have travelled on many occasions over the years and loved experiencing many cultures and cuisines, the result has brought both food and travel as being an important and huge part of my life. My daily life is a mix of working in an office environment plus anything foodie related. I was a MasterChef Australia contestant in 2017, have my own cookbook ‘Pia’s Table’ and I’m currently writing another, teach cooking classes, cooking demonstrations, recipe testing, food collaborations and part of other food events. I’m loving being part of Flavourhood Tours as a guide, it combines my love of food, laughter and conversation. As the saying goes”food brings people together”, it definitely does and I love it!

Lara – Flavourhood Tours Guide

I’m originally from Tasmania and have lived in Melbourne, Edinburgh, London and have been back in Melbourne for the last 6 years. I tend to base my holidays around food and national parks and spend my free time exploring the best of Northside eats. I’m an avid cook and enjoy experimenting on my family with different styles of food, while my husband does the wine and craft beer matching. My day job is in financial services so food is definitely my creative outlet and I especially love being a Flavourhood Tours Guide!

Claire – Flavourhood Tours Guide

After returning from my European travels back in 2006 (ahhh those were the days!), I set about combining my passion for food, wine and travel into a career. 15 years later, I am proud to have worked for some incredible brands and talented people in the media, advertising and events space, including Gourmet Traveller, BBC Australian Good Food and Food & Wine Victoria, creators of Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. I love discovering new foods, meeting new people and like most born and bred Melbournians, am always on the hunt for that perfect coffee hit that’s why I wanted to become a Flavourhood Tour Guide!
